Range & Habitat:
Found throughout the state.
Patrols along small marshy streams. Often found feeding
along woodland edges or even in deep shadow in full forest.
Often feeds well past sunset.

Description:
A brownish darner, with nearly straight lateral thoracic
stripes, usually yellow, tinted green or blue dorsally.
Dorsal and lateral abdominal spots smaller than in other Aeshnas,
almost reminiscent of Swamp Darner. Whitish spots on the
underside of the abdomen and the upper surface of the paraproct
is white.
Vertically flattened cerci with a spike at the end are shared
with the much brighter Lance-tipped Darner.
Conservation Status:State: S5 - Demonstrably secure in the stateGlobal: G5 - Secure globally, but possibly rare in parts of its range
