Range & Habitat:

Found in the northwest where it commonly inhabits beaver ponds and other still water.

Description:

Known from Common Baskettail by the spindle shaped abdomen, strongly constricted at S3.  Note the shape of the claspers shown in the lateral photo.

 

Conservation Status:

State: S2 - Imperiled in New Jersey

Global: G5 - Secure globally, but possibly rare in parts of its range
