Range & Habitat:

A very rare vagrant to the coastal plain, it has not been recorded in 10 years.

Description:

Very similar to the Carolina Saddlebags, this vagrant appears slightly smaller and paler.  The forehead usually lacks violet and the black on the dorsum of S8-S10 does not extend down to the sides of the segments.

 

Conservation Status:

State: SZN - An occasional vagrant, no mapable populations

Global: G5 - Secure globally, but possibly rare in parts of its range
